Vivienne Rainsbury
I have been combining my twin passions of art and animals for over half a century, and now enjoying partial retirement I am more able to indulge in panting wildlife and domestic animals and pets.
My work is mostly carried out in pastel or acrylics, and my paintings have been sent to all corners of the UK as well as throughout Europe, North and South America, Scandinavia and Australia. My paintings have been regularly exhibited for many years at a number of venues and shows.
Besides painting, I breed, show and judge Bedlington Terriers and Whippets, and I have painted portraits of many top-winning dogs for their owners. I have also illustrated a number of books, mostly on dog breeds, but also horses, parrots, cats and tropical fish, and I have for many years designed greetings cards for the JR Whippet Rescue Scheme and the Smooth Fox Terrier Association.
I trained as a Graphic Designer, and on completion of my studies, worked for a time at Great Yarmouth College of Art and Design. As well as NWAG, I am a member of Great Yarmouth Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, the SAA, and I also help run a small art group in Ormesby.
